    Low absorption at ‌10.6μm‌ (CO₂ lasers), range ‌0.6–21μm‌, avg. transmission ‌70%‌ (up to ‌>99%‌ with AR coating), temp. limit ‌<250°C‌‌.

    ‌Fluoride Lenses (CaF₂/BaF₂/MgF₂)‌:
    BaF₂: Broadband transmission, stable up to ‌800°C‌ (dry environments);
    MgF₂: Range ‌0.12–7μm‌, chemical/laser damage resistance, lowest refractive index (‌1.413‌) among IR materials‌.
