    Wavelength 1.8–23μm, blocks visible light, Knoop hardness 780 for rugged applications (max. temp. <100°C).

    Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) Lenses

    Low absorption at 10.6μm (CO₂ lasers), range 0.6–21μm, avg. transmission 70% (up to >99% with AR coating), temp. limit <250°C.

    Fluoride Lenses (CaF₂/BaF₂/MgF₂)

    BaF₂: Broadband transmission, stable up to 800°C (dry environments);
    MgF₂: Range 0.12–7μm, chemical/laser damage resistance, lowest refractive index (1.413) among IR materials.
